TODD R. JONES JOINS ASD MARKETING STAFF

Alabama State Docks’ Director and CEO James K. Lyons has announced the hire of Todd R. Jones as Manager of Carrier Marketing for the Port Authority. Jones, approved by the Port Authority Board at its last meeting, began work at the State Docks on Monday.

Jones will be responsible for recruiting new shipping lines to Mobile and will work with customers who will utilize those lines. This new position is a part of the intermodal/container expansion the State Docks is undertaking at Choctaw Point Terminals. Jones’ background includes sales, finance and administration with United States Lines Inc., as well a number of management and sales positions with national and international trucking lines.

A graduate of Auburn University with a major in economics, Jones has headed sales operations in Mobile, New York, New Jersey, Utah, and California as well as overseas assignments in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as British Columbia, Canada.

Lyons said that Mr. Jones will report to Les Stuart, manager of Trade and Development. “We look forward to working with Todd. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge and contacts to the table,” Stuart said.
